flavor notes explained

Blueberry Pancakes - The sweetness of this coffee is exquisite and compiles a lot of nuances. Touches of developed sugars with fruited malic acidity make blueberry pancakes hard to unsee once you see it.

Maple - Tying in the theme of blueberry pancakes comes a warm, but aromatic herbal note that we felt maple helped describe. Lots of complexity sits in this cup, particularly in the nose as well as the avalanche of sweetness throughout the whole experience.

Cream - The smooth mouthfeel of this coffee is an incredible display of clarity and consistency. We really enjoy how consistent this coffee is in the cup and felt that silky mouthfeel was best communicated in a note of cream.

about Altieri Family Farms

Eugene Altieri (Don Gene) started growing coffee in Boquete over 20 years ago. With no prior experience in the coffee industry but a keen business mind, Don Gene saw the potential for a thriving family business. The family's two farms, Alto Lino and Callejón Seco are planted with Caturra, Catuai, Typica, and Geisha. After Don Gene's retirement seven years ago, the family business is now run by his children, Anna Lynn and Francisco, and farm manager Roger Pitti. All of the Altieri family’s Geisha is planted at Callejón Seco, just to the Southeast of the Volcán Barú National Park, and the different tablons on the farm are named after Eugene’s grandchildren. This Caturra was processed using an anaerobic slow dry (ASD) method and has big tropical fruit notes.
