Affogato Recipe

When you have a great tasting decaf, you can enjoy many different desserts even later in the evening. Here are some ideas for a coffee dessert and pairings. A delicious dessert you can try is the Affogato. It’s simple and delicious.

Ingredients

  • Vanilla ice cream or gelato
  • 2 Decaf espresso shots

You can add other toppings like chocolate shavings, nuts, or caramel sauce. If you don’t have espresso, you can use strongly brewed hot coffee. Latin American coffees are optimal for espresso shots or strongly brewed coffee.

Steps

  1. Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream in a bowl.
  2. Add additional ingredients if desired.
  3. Pour both espresso shots or hot, strongly brewed coffee over ice cream.
  4. Enjoy.

Coffee and Dessert Pairing

If you want to enjoy coffee with dessert, here are some delicious options. Pairing coffee with the right dessert is a great way to enjoy a delightful treat. For example, you can pair an espresso drink with chocolate cake, chocolate tart, or tiramisu. Espresso, or strongly brewed coffee, pairs well with chocolaty desserts. Fruity desserts generally pair well with coffee drinks with foamed milk. Pairing a latte with a fruit tart or a blueberry muffin is a great combination.
